His Master, Maurice GENDRON, once said :”I did not do myself much, everything was there“.
"When you begin with the second suite from Bach, it’s no doubt the masterpiece and a whole universe as well. In my life, without making any plans for it, playing the six suites from Bach has become a reality, like au unknown rendez-vous, sort an unconscious goal. You have to face your limits when you are very young and I remember when I was confronted to the Dvorak Concerto at the age of eleven! Today, it’s a wonderful balance between my art and the very few left by it in my life. I also love philosophy, german one, Nietzsche and Heidegger, because you always have to build an d build again your imagination and desires. I feel it’s really important never to give up; things, definitely, have to be “words and breathe”. I play with a wonderful Italian cello, but, then, I would say that the most important thing was, as a kid, playing with French instruments that taught you the art of phrasing." |
